Ok...not really a problem this one so much as a strange behavior.
If I lay my 3G on a desk, it seems to work just fine...I can type and scroll around with no problems, but if I try to use pinch zoom, it seems to work, then just gets unresponsive. If I pick the phone up, it works just fine. Lay it back down...same unresponsiveness to multi-touch. I only have to lift it so that it isn't touching the surface of the desk, and it works. I wondered if it was something to do with finger pressure on the screen, but it seems to work just fine normally with a light or heavy touch.
It's not really causing a problem, and there's nothing wrong with the handset, as the wifes iPod touch does exactly the same, it's just that I can't explain the behavior.
