So this is my setup...

I have an Ubuntu Linux media server using daapd to show up as a library in iTunes on my Macs. I want to be able to use the iPhone remote to control what is playing (to my Airport Express) in iTunes on one of my Macs but I don't seem to be able to control shared music, only tracks that are local to the mac I'm connected to.

Is there a work around or am I missing something?

Cheers.

they have to be in your library. just add them to your library but don't copy them to the mac, leave them as is, just add data to the library and it should work

Mmm, good idea, thanks.

However of course the stuff I import will be static and I'll need to manually add stuff every time it is added to the media server, but thanks for the workaround.
