Hey there,

Just a quick question -- do you know if it is possible to use the microphone on my iPod touch's headphones on my Macbook Pro by plugging it into the microphone jack? If not, any recommendations as to how I can go about doing something like that?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I believe it will work with your MacBook Pro. It works on my 2008 unibody MacBook.

If you don't seem to be picking up audio from it initially, check your Sound Preference Pane and see if it's showing in the list and is selected.

Hey boredterry. The headphones pick-up your voice right after you plug them into the audio OUT jack of your MBP. No need to plug them into the mic in. The audio out of your MBP is designed just like the iPod, both in and out.
