Carrier Using IUP upgrade with Tmobile account for VZW iPhone 7

I currently have a 6S that I got through the IUP. Can I use my "upgrade" to get a Verizon iPhone, even though I have a Tmobile account? This interests me, because I may switch to Verizon early next year, and the ATT/Tmobile models apparently will not work with Verizon.

I want to know this as well.
 
I had the same question. I asked an IUP specialist while discussing my preorder options and trying to get me a phone. I asked if I could obtain a Verizon phone despite having a T-Mobile account. According to them it would not work. They confirmed the phone would work with T-Mobile but said if I got a Verizon phone they would be activating it in store on a Verizon line. Take it fwiw but I feel like that was in fact the process last year when I got my IUP Verizon phone (when I had Verizon).
 
The phone comes with a verizon SIM so what you are saying makes sense. I just wonder if they can manually override by getting a tmobile SIM and activate that instead.
 
I am also in the same boat. Last year I was with At&t and now I am with T-Mobile and since T-Mobile was not available to reserve I reserved the At&t one. I went to Apple Store and asked a rep about this and he said that yeah we will be able to deal with it so not a big deal so lets see what happens on Friday. I hope I come home with a new Iphone
