I've just upgraded my 2018 mac mini to 64gb ram.
During the process, one of the two fat motherboard screws was particularly hard to remove.
Anyway, got it out, completed the rest of the upgrade process but then the screw would not go back in, it just kept turning.
It seems an issue with the hole rather than the screw as I tried swapping the screws over and the same hole had the issue with the other screw.

I've put the rest of it back together and just booted up and showing 64gb ram.

Do you think having just one screw securing the motherboard could be a potential problem?
It seems very secure and I won't be moving the unit around hardly at all.

Thanks

Providing the locking clips at the back is fine and you are lying it flat on a desk rather than on its side it will be fine.

i have a spare MacBook air with hardly any logic/motherboard screws that works fine
since you  mini is not portable you will be fine
the screws just secure any movement, and these minis are very tight to begin with.

Thanks guys.
It did feel secure, but this was my first time doing anything remotely technical with hardware!
