I have been given a Lenovo A720 all in one, it has a massive screen (compared to my Mac), is it possible to link these up so I can use the Lenovo screen instead of my macbook pro screen... obvioulsy using my OS as the main system.

My mac is 2012, 15 inch, has 16gb ram, 1tbSSD and on Sonoma. Runs fine even with multiple Adobe programs open.

Is it as simple as one lead???

Thanks.

With the HMDI in of the Lenovo all in one this should work. But how does this work with boot order? If you switch on the All in One first, it will use the internal display. If you switch on the MBP first, then the Lenovo might recognize the HDMI in and then only show the MBP display output? So I guess there has to be a hardware button somewhere on the Lenovo that lets you change the display input. Weird setup.

It's just as I have been given this Lenovo but refuse to use Windows... But I would like to use it as a monitor as my 15 inch MBP is ok but the 20" or so on the Lenovo whilst at home would be great

If the Lenovo has an HDMI input, then you would just connect the Mac via HDMI then switch the input on the Lenovo to the external source. This has nothing to to with boot order on the Lenovo itself, as it is similar to changing inputs on a standalone monitor or TV.
