Hey everyone,
I am wanting to install Linux Ubuntu on my Macbook. I do not want to pay for anything (so VMWare is out). I think I am going to use Virtual Desktop. Is this ok? Also, can I do this all on an external hard drive? I don't want to clutter my computer, and will only use Linux for work so that is why I just want it on my external. So, if I do this all on my external, will I still be able to boot into Linux by holding command on start up? (if my external is plugged in of course). One last thing, any other recommendations on a virtual desktop like application, and other Linux versions that would be preferred over Ubuntu. Thanks everyone.
edit: does the macbooks have the intel-x86 or intel ia-64 processor? may be dumb, but I have no clue.
