I'm trying to use my Mac mini as a video calling hub for Zoom, FaceTime, Hangouts calls etc. connected to my TV. I got a Logitech Brio webcam with built in mics, and the video quality is great. I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle the mics and audio output. The problem I'm running into is the mics pick up a ton of sound from the speakers so it has a ton of feedback. I know my MacBook automatically filters out that sound from the mics, but is there a way to setup the Mac mini to automatically filter out the audio output from the mic?
Currently the Mac is connected to my Denon AV receiver via HDMI, and the receiver is connected to the TV. The webcam is connected directly to the Mac mini via usb. The webcam is close to the center channel speaker, so I understand why it is picking up a lot of sound, but I'm basically trying to see if there's a way for the Mac to automatically filter that out.
I was using Crestron HomeTime as inspiration for this, but wanted to do it with devices I already owned: https://www.crestron.com/News/Press-Releases/2020/Crestron-HomeTime-is-the-First-Fully-Integrated-Co
