Ok This is what I want to do:

Set it up so that I can connect my old white MacBook to my SD TV and a old reciever for audio (using composite) in the living room to use as a HTPC, to this I would like to stream iTunes music/movies/tv shows, EyeTV recordings, and if possible full DVD copies (or some type of conversion that is an exact copy of the entire DVD including subtitles and bonus features) from either my iMac or NAS (500GB WD MyBookWorld 1st edition). I would also be watching hulu content on it.

I would like to control everything using my iPod Touch as a remote, however I don't think you can do that with hulu so I do have an extra BT mighty mouse that I could use for hulu.

My current set up:

I have my 24" iMac (320GB currently, thinking about putting a 1Tb in it in the future but till then I have the 1TB as a USB external drive that I can use for iMac storage) in my room, it's connected over a wireless N connection to the router on the other side of the room (it only has 10/100 Mbps anyway no GB)
In the living room we have like a 26" SDTV connected to a VHS/DVD player (this is what I want to connect the MB to) that runs analog cable through it and the audio from the VHS/DVD player runs to a receiver with 4 speakers connected to it (plan on updating everything in the future, but this is what I'll be working with for now)

What I know I need:
Hardware:
A mini DVI-video adapter, a 3.5mm to composite audio cable
Software:
I've already got Remote app for itunes, is there anything I could use to control DVDs using the Touch (or hulu but I doubt that as I said)?

So now the questions:

1. Right now as it is I've got my iTunes library stored locally on my iMac and my DVD copies stored on my NAS, I know I have to set up file sharing and then share my local library to see it on the MacBook correct?

2. Any suggestions on how I would stream the full DVDs, or what I should convert them to?

3. I can set EyeTV to automatically convert to itunes format and it will add it to the local itunes library and would then show up on the MB under the shared library correct?

4. Will the MacBook detect the TV OK if it's run through the VCR/DVD player then to the TV or does the MacBook have to be directly connected to the TV?

5. If I also wanted to stream music from the iMac to speakers outside while BBQing would the best thing be to get a Airport Express, hook some speakers up to it, and use Airtunes and the Touch to control playback?

6. Is there anything else I need or that would make this easier or more enjoyable? I'm trying to keep the cost down as much as possible on this set up.
