using macbook pro with lid closed

im not really trying to use the functions of the macbook pro with the lid closed but all i want to do is when I'm playing a movie off iTunes on my tv through the firewire/hdmi cable to be able to close the lid when the movie is playing so its not on... any apps of something that i can do... remember i don't want to have to set up a external keyboard or mouse...

there was one that was insomniaT that was supposed to be lion friendly but i can't find it.

Why don't you just dimm the screen till it is off. Sounds like the easiest thing to do.
Closing the lid has always the side effect that the cooling get worse and in return the machine a little louder.
Shut off the screen problem solved.
