A contractor I talked with recently told me that they do not allow MacOS in their DoD networks, due to the fact that it requires so many external network connections to operate, obtain patches, etc., with apparently no way to secure these platforms and/or isolate their patch/update process, etc. She said that they talked with Apple and it never got resolved, it's not possible.

This is something I've not heard of, but I can at least see where this presents a big problem. Is there anyone here that operates in a similar environment that could comment on this -- or is there something else that could be realistically done. Has it been done, etc.

Thanks!

Catalina is the last macOS version that can be updated offline https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2094

Interesting, and thank you for responding.

Apple must certainly be aware of the issue, and probably could care less due to the current market share in the public/civilian sector. But they're missing out, I think.

So Windows/Linux on Dell in those environments it will remain LOL
