Ok,
I turned on my airport on my mac and im using my iPhone to connect to it using wi-fi. So that way if someone is on the internet with the mac (using ethernet cord) i can still browse the web, cydia, etc on my iPhone. how can i setup a password on my mac so no one else in my apts can use my mac to connect...:apple::confused:

If you enabled internet sharing on the Mac's Sharing preferences pane, when you picked what connection it would broadcast, you have to click on the Options button to enable a passphrase. It can only use a WEP-level security though, not WPA or WPA2 which is more secure.
