Hi guys, is there a way where I can use my MBP as a PS3 monitor a cheap way?

I have a 2011 MBP 17in and I was wondering if I can use it as a monitor since my TV just broke...

I know ways like eyeTV 250+ and eyeTV Hybrid and all that but they cost nearly $200.

any suggestions?

Not do-able, most solutions work through USB and there is horrible lag between your input on the controller and the time it takes to show up on screen.

Fine for watching movies, gaming, not so much. Don't bother and get a new TV.

might I suggest getting a monitor off of newegg for the price you pay to get a converter. you get a bigger screen and you can get 16:9 displays cheaply now so you won't see black bars while playing games, black bars will be seen on your MBP because of the difference in aspect ratio. if black bars aren't there, your game will look stretched.

The converter is only about $150~$200.
I'm not sure if you can get a good monitor with HDMI (possibly up to 720p or 1080i/p) over 17in.
