Before I ask my question, I suppose I should explain my setup.

I've got a MBP and a Mac mini. The MBP is my "main computer", whilst the mini is my HTPC.

Currently, I've got a 1TB external drive plugged into my mini which I've partitioned for use with Time Machine and general storage. So my MBP wirelessly backs up to the 1TB drive plugged into the mini, which is just dandy because it backs up all my music, pictures, videos, etc, to this external drive, without me needing to do any manual transferring or having my iTunes library on an external drive. I like to keep my music on my main machine at all times.

On my mini, I simply mounted the sparse bundle, and dragged all my media into iTunes. So when my laptop is off/not around, I can still get all my goodies.

However, I've run into one minor inconvenience. The two cannot work at the same time. I can't have the sparse bundle mounted on the mini and still have the MBP perform Time Machine backups because the "resource is busy".

Is there any possible way around this so both machines can access the sparse bundle at the same time? Or is that just one of the "drawbacks" of the situation? It's not really a massive deal, but I grow weary of these "Time Machine failed" errors.

Thanks in advance,

-Chris.

And a picher! :D
