iPod Using my RAZR cell phone car charger for my iPod thru iTrip?

Hello friends, this is my first post... Here is my question...

The charger port for my RAZR cell phone & the iTrip FM transmitter I just got for my iPod have the same mini USB port. I'm wondering if I could just use my cell phone car charger to charge my iPod when the iTrip is connected. The ports are the same, but I'm wondering if I would fry my iPod this way... any thoughts? Has anybody tied this?

Try it, and if it fries your iPod, be sure to come back and let us know

I would guess that it would work since the power contacts will be at the same points on the plug regardless of use. That said, I'd think it would work. I'd certainly try it.

This thought crossed my mind as well when i saw that port... still haven't tried it though.

Okay, okay I tried it

So actually nothing happened. It didn't fry it, but it didn't charge it either. So there you have it. Let me know if anyone else has a different experience--thanks!
