If I'm the primary acct holder, can I just go in with her phone, and upgrade it? It's my name and SS# on the account. She's not too fond of standing in line for hours, with our 16 month old son.

if everything is under your name why would she have to go??

What if it is the other way?
My wife is the primary a/c holder and I need to get her the new phone. I will have all her info. Can I stand in line and get it for her?
I already ordered mine.

Just to be safe, make sure you're listed on the account.

Not unless you're an authorized user on the account.
If not they will not let you do anything on her account even if you have her info. They will ask for your ID.

When I got the 4 opening day I picked up my roommate's for him and he's actually the primary account holder. So I doubt it will be an issue.

Are you also an authorized user on the account?
If not they are not supposed to let anyone make changes to someone elses account that's not listed in their system as an authorized user.
Not sure if some rep will let you get away with but I wouldnt risk wasting time waiting in line and then get turned away. They always ask for my licence when I go to AT&T to do anything on my family plan.
Call them up and ask for details or just call and add their name to your account so they can make changes to the account without any problems.

Yeah I was and am. I managed to convince him to make me an authorized user too so I could get the iphone without him (he was on the fence as he's nowhere near as excited about gadgets as I am and then decided to go ahead and get it too so I picked it up for him).
