Using 'Numbers'

I've heard a lot about 'Numbers' from Iwork and have been trying to find some basic data for it - currently using Excel for Mac 2011 and looking to get an IPad2 - but can't find;
the maximum size for a spreadsheet
the numbers of tabs allowed in a workbook

Can anyone help please?

In short, everything depends on your computer's memory:
