I understand Apple offers legally unlocked iphone 3G in places like Hong Kong and Italy. Will there be any problems for using these officially unlocked iphones in the U.S., such as sync with iTunes, getting support at the Apple Store etc.? What's Apple's policy on this?

Thx

iPhone warrenties are only honoured in the country in which it is purchased. So you'll be out of luck if an unlocked (albeit legally unlocked) iPhone goes kaput.

Other than that there'll be no issues in syncing and updating.

Never mind. I didn't read the original post correctly.
