I came to Apple 5 years ago with a shiny new iMacG4. Loved it, still do. Don't want to take it off my desk despite the lovely new iMac I got last weekend.

What I do need is a second screen to use with FCP. Does anyone know of a way I can co-opt the screen of the G4 as a slave to the new iMac?

Thanks.

I tried this once, may not be the best solution. A little slow but it may work because iMacs you have i believe have decent specs, compared to the PowerMacs i tried it on. THe program is called Screen Recycler. Basically you create network between the two computers (preferably ethernet to connect the two and you can use wifi for your main internet). Then it allows you to share the screen of your old iMac. Infact the first page of the site shows exactly what you have, so hey it might work nicely.

good luck, ask if you need more help
