I've just got hold of a quicksilver 933mhz CPU to upgrade my G4 DA but it has no heatsink. I could modify my existing heatsink but that would involve hacking about 1" off the side.

I was wondering if i could use a PC heatsink & fan as an alternative as I have a couple lying around? If so, what's the equivilent compatible PC processor speed that it needs to be able to cool? (i.e. I have a heatsink that will cool an AMD chip up to 1ghz)

I hope I've explained that clearly!

I'm pretty sure it'll work i have a B&W with a G4 in it and i bought a PC Heatsink/fan that was meant for an AMD @ 600 mhz (So I could over clock it) and thats what i'm using right now. Just make sure it fits and all and everything shouldbe fine. You also might need to get an adapter for the power cable since i think that fans use a much smaller connector comapred to the HD connector. so you might need to get an adapter.
