Perhaps i am simply lost... yep i am lost!
Can someone please describe to me the difference between:
1. CUPS - Common Unix Printing System
2. Gimp-print
3. Ghostscript
4. Foomatic
Is there a way to tell of these have been installed on your machine?
More importantly, are these programs supposed to make a pcl (non-postscript) printers work with os X(postscript only)?
If so am I supposed to us a postscript ppd file and one of the programs above translates the print file into pcl (non-postscript)?
Can some one direct me on how to install a generic pcl file for a Lanier LD328c printer which is pcl6?
Of if there is a better way then using a generic pcl file please advise.
