Quick question.

In theory, if I connected a Retina MacBook Pro to an external screen and closed it (with mouse and keybord connected obviously), would the retina display stop completely?

I ask because if I wanted to game on a HDTV, would the machine being retina but CLOSED use more gpu than a regular MacBook pro doing the same task?

That was hard to explain :p

Yes, when you operate in clamshell mode, the internal display is off.
