I lost my AT&T iPhone 4 last week. I don't want to buy another one or extend my contract until the next iPhone is released. I have an old iPhone 3G that I bought with a SingTel contract when I used to live in Singapore. Is there a way to use this with my current AT&T contract? Will it require jailbreaking?

Singtel phones are not locked.. all you have to do is get a replacement SIM (but make sure its not micro sim) and stick it in..

of get a micro sim and get an adapter and stick it in.. your choice..

Yes - that worked.

AT&T told me over the phone that they would charge $15-$20 for a new SIM card, but their store simply gave me a new one for free. They programmed it with my existing account number, and I was out of the store with a working phone in 10 minutes. Once home I reset the phone, so when iTunes recognised it as a new phone I was able to restore it from the backup from my old iPhone4.

Thanks for your help, and enjoy your time in Singapore!
