Using Spanish IPhone in the US

I am moving to Spain for the next 9 months and I am not sure whether I should buy an IPhone in Spain or if I should buy it in the US.
Does anyone know which one is better?
Is it possible to unlock a Spanish IPhone to use in the US?

You gotta ask the spanish provider you're planning on using.
I believe they do.
If you get one from the US they are all locked to AT&T and they dont officially unlock them like other carriers.
