Is it ok for me to use my iPod cables with my iPhone? I have 2 of them spare from my iPod Video and Nano. I have been using them at work and one in a different room and its been fine so far but am just checking.

Only difference seems to be the connector size that goes into the device. iPhone one is samller than iPod

I have always used the chords interchangeably with no problems but I dont know if technically that is the correct answer.

i've used the usb cords for my nano and video ipod with my iphone with no problems.

Mains charging

On a related note, does anyone know if I can use the USB-Mains charging block I bought for my shuffle? (with an appropriate cable of course).

USB is a standard. Doesn't matter if you plug your dock connector cable into a Nano supplied wall wart, an iPod supplied wall wart, a third party Belkin wall wart, a Dell, an iMac, whatever - it'll supply the same voltage. So yeah, you'll be fine. I use the same AC/USB adapter to charge my iPhone, Shuffle, Jawbone, Xbox controller, and my girlfriend's Nano. Works great!

....wall wart....

Sounded like an uncomfortable medical condition to me!

Not a noun I'd ever heard of so I had to look it up:

A small power-supply brick with integral male plug, designed to plug directly into a wall outlet; called a ‘wart’ because when installed on a power strip it tends to block up at least one more socket than it uses. These are frequently associated with modems and other small electronic devices which would become unacceptably bulky or hot if they had power supplies on board (there are other reasons as well having to do with the cost of UL certification).

You live and learn.

Glad I could expand your knwoledge. :) Must be a US thing. With all the UK folks posting here now that the iPhone is being offered on your side of the pond, I've encountered a few unfamiliar phrases as well.
