Using the dd command to write to cdrom device file

Hi. I'm trying to write an img boot file to a cdrom. I checked the /dev and /Volume directories and I don't see any reference to the cdrom device file using any of the typical linux names (/dev/cd0, /dev/sr0, etc). How would I do this on a mac running 10.6.8?
