Using Time Capsule as Timae Machine and NAS

I would like to use my 1.5TB Time capsule as a NAS for an external iPhoto library (among other things) in addition to the existing time machine backups that are on it (sparsebundle is there already and has been running for a few months).

I seem to remember that this might be an issue - is this the case?
