using touch bar to skip youtube ads.

in case some didn't know, here's a little tip for those who have touch bars.

we all know youtube has some ads before actual videos (unless you pay), and some can be skipped after 5 seconds, but some shorter ones can't. they basically force you to watch the full ~10 seconds ad

however, if you are watching on safari using html5, you get the media control as soon as the commercial starts playing, then you can just drag it to the end of the video on you touch bar, no ads anymore.

In my use case, Ad blocker extension while using VPN is not consistent and can prevent pages to be displayed correctly, at the end is more hassle to disable and enable, refresh (repeat).

For non VPN use could work well indeed.

Not sure what you mean, but GM subscription includes YouTube Red and no ads in the US.
