Using touchID on MacBook Pro for passwords?

How does one enable Touch ID for passwords other than laptop password? Do you have to use it with 1password, etc?
 
I've heard that 1Password supports Touch ID so that would be a good place to start.

Looks like it open supports it for unlocking the master passwords, looking for something that will send the login info as well with Touch ID..
