I'm wondering why we can't use Vision pro as a PS5 display device. It would be awesome to play GT7 and other games with it. I'd actually buy it without hesitation in that case.

Just stream you PS5 to Vision Pro with Remote Play. Currently the remote play app runs as an iPad app on Vision, but a dev is making a dedicated Vision app.

Latency needs to be effectively eliminated in order for this to work properly, otherwise it will cause motion sickness. Best to stream via Virtual Display so you can get imperceptible input latency.

I use PlayStation remote play app on MacBook and mirror to vision thru virtual desktop. Use Ethernet connection on ps5 and MacBook (unfortunate vision can not be wired). Display quality and latency are pretty good.
It would be nice if screen/virtual desktop could be paused for breaks without having to reconnect or screen could have certain areas saved to be for placement.

GT7 looks great on vision and also prefer it over psvr. With the screen size it is like a psvr experience, but much better display quality.

Well the PSVR is specifically for the PS5, and besides that you wouldn't get any of the VR experiences using a Vision as it is not designed for a PS5. There is the rumor that Vision may be able to use PSVR controllers in the future which is cool, but it would require to actually sell those separately which as far as I am aware they do not currently as PSVR2 has sold poorly so far.

Excuse me, but do PSVR games support the full VR experience, as in being fully realised artificial worlds? And will the coming app on Vision allow you to bring those VR worlds to the Vision Pro device?

You're just running the game in pancake mode in a floating window and without using PSVR for the proper virtual reality experience you don't get the advantages of things like depth perception, head tracking in game, etc.

edit:
all that said, I'd love to see psvr2 support for the Mac. It has eye tracking, good controllers and if Apple were to support it (they're rumoured to be adding support for psvr2 controllers at least to Vision Pro) I think it would really help the Apple platforms get a leg up in VR content. It's so much cheaper and the display quality whilst nowhere near what AVP offers is still pretty darn good for the price.

If you’re talking full vr, I don’t even think that’s possible as PlayStation is a closed platform isn’t it?

You can remote play your ps5. I do that on my Vision Pro. But beyond that, nah
