I'm using my macbook (OS 10.4.11) to connect my xbox to xbox live via an ethernet cable and then airport to my wifi router. After some fiddling around, I can connect to the network but the NAT is set to 'moderate'. This interferes with some aspects of playing, but I can't discover how to set it to 'open'. There are plenty of questions about this on various fora but no answers that I've found. The problem seems to be some sort of duplication of NAT settings at the router and also the mac. Waterroof seems to be able to tweak these, but I really don't understand what to do with it. Can anyone help?

I *think* you need to just make sure all the necessary ports are open in IPFW, (with Waterroof), and then set up NAT correctly on only the router.

so...I think I know which ports to forward - though Waterroof says 'port redirection' - is this the same? In addition I have to specify a WAN or LAN IP. Would this count as a LAN? And should I give the xbox's IP address?
