Using Windows 7 computer as server for Lion (Do I have it set up correctly?)

Hi guys, I have a baseline iMac (early 2008). I did a clean install of lion and now I'm looking to make a server out of a Windows 7 computer to store some files and what not.

So I set it up by going to finder >> go >> connect to server... >> smb://192...

Then it connects and I can drag and drop files to and from it, but I was wondering if it would be possible to be able to "save as" to the server. For example, if I'm in word is there any way I could save as to the server?

Also, is it possible to use Time Machine with a server like this?
