This is an odd sort-of-plug, but I think it's appropriate. People periodically ask what the best newsreader for the Mac is here, and my (and several others') answer is always "Thoth... but you can't buy it anymore."
Well, that MIGHT change. The developer is considering resurrecting it, including several new features and a full Universal binary version. The thing is, he's not going to do it unless there's enough interest to make it a viable product for him to develop.
I, for one, am a paid user of the last version, which--after almost 3 years--still works perfectly under Tiger on a G5 tower. And I would GLADLY pay for it again to support development on a new version, particularly one that's Universal.
Panic's Unison is a nice app, and has some ease-of-use advantages (by golly, it's pretty), but when it comes to raw power and flexibility (for both downloading binaries and straight-text newsreading), Thoth still has it beat even after several years of development.
So, if you're a Usenet fan and there's a chance you'd be willing to pay for what is unquestionably the nicest newsreader on the platform (maybe ANY platform), go and tell the guy:

Also, for old time Thoth users who haven't seen it, here's a page with screenshots of the development versions of 1.8 and the heavily revamped 2.0:

From the looks of it, the app's only two weaknesses--ugly preference dialogues and a not-so-hot image browser--are both dealt with in a big way.
