My friend got one iPhone 6 and one iPhone 6+ for me and will ship them to me in a different state.

We planned to ship them via USPS priority mail.

Could somebody help tell me the dimensions and the weight of each phone in the original cardboard packaging from Apple on-line store.

I am trying to figure out the right box to use for USPS priority flat rate.

Please do not tell me to ask my friend. I am just trying to minimize his burden.

Thanks a lot.

Apple's 4.7 inch iPhone 6 is just 6.9 mm thick and weighs only 129g, while the larger 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus is only 7.1mm thick and weighs 172 g.

I believe he's referring the dimensions of the box, and the weight of the box with the phone inside.

The weigh doesn't matter. It won't fit in the small flat rate box but it will in the boxy medium one.

You will have to use the Priority medium box. Just make sure to use lots of stuffing or bubble wrap to compensate for all the extra space and protection.

Anything over 13 ounces must ship Priority Mail. Flat rate boxes have three sizes. The small flat rate box when folded up is roughly the same size/dimensions of an old VHS tape (maybe 10% larger) and will not work. The medium box comes in two sizes, one long and flat and the other like a shorter, fatter shoe box. Either of these will carry two iPhones in box with plenty of padding, although the more square of the two is more logical. The large flat rate box is huge.

Thanks for all the replies. They are helpful since I am not in the States now.
Basically I am supposed to ask my friend to ship both phones together in the original packaging via USPS priority mail medium flat rate (shoe) box.

I will surely buy insurance and signature.

Thanks.
