Utility to allow me to choose which disks to sleep?

Do you know any utility to allow me to choose which disks(internal or external) to sleep?

Ejecting is not an option I guess?
Normally external disk go to sleep themselves, but sometimes it does not works as set (System Preferences > Energy Saver).

I have an external firewire 800 and when wake from sleep i have to wait 10secs with spinning beachball is really annoying when you use to in a SSD RAID
