Ok, I was just searching apple.com for documentation of 1.1.4. In doing so, I found the change-log for v1.1.2 for both iPod touch and iPhone, stating the security holes Apple plugged, and briefly, what they have done to plug them. Also found, was the change-log for v1.1.3, again offered up the same information, publicly. When I went to search for 'v1.1.4' Apple returned the documents for 'Garage Band Update 4.1.1' and it's changes within. Notably, there was no sign of what was changed security-wise or otherwise for firmware version 1.1.4 for either device.
According to Apple:
"For the protection of our customers, Apple does not disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until a full investigation has occurred and any necessary patches or releases are available."
Well the release is available, and has been, since Thursday.
Does this mean, because 1.1.4 has not been documented as a 'security' fix on docs.info.apple.com, it added something else?, something significant? - I know most of you are going to go down the road of 'It's the SDK Prep!! .... blah .. blah . blah' ... and it may be just that ...
But I just thought it was interesting, that, according to apple.com, v1.1.4 doesn't exist yet for either iPod touch or iPhone.
Normally, or in the past, Apple have had this official documentation up within hours of the update being pushed to iTunes.
Are they hiding something?
Just thought I'd post ..
