I have a situation.

Backstory: Had a friend with a 2g iphone with some pixels on the screen that were messed up. Struck a deal with him that he would go get his iPhone replaced and I buy that new iPhone for $150 and then he would proceed to buy the iPhone 3g. Good deal I thought. So all of that transpired.

I have a TMOBILE and need to unlock this new iphone. It came from the apple store with 2.0.2 on it. I upgraded my iTunes to v8. Proceeded to update the phone to 2.1 on iTunes. This was successful.

Downloaded QwkPwnage for v2.1 iPhones. Did not use the expert mode and just used the ipsw file that i got off of iclarified.com's tutorial (which was for the v2.1 qwkpwange version). Proceeded to Jailbrake the phone and everything went fine and i have the installer app and the cydia app on my iphone now.

Then I tried to put in my SIM card i use in my TMOBILE phone. When I do that it says i need to connect to iTunes and I can only make emergency calls. When I put in the at&t sim card that came with the phone it wants me to active the phone after the phone boots up, and i can press "dismiss" and use it with wifi but it has no service (obviously).

Did I needed to have my TMOBILE sim card in the phone when i jailbroke it?

Do I need to download a program like "anySIM" on the installer app?

Was the qwkpnage i used just used to jailbrake the phone and not unlock it?

Do I need to use the QwkPwnage tool in expert mode and make a custom ipsw file, then use iTunes 8 to restore it with the custom ipsw file (or go download iTunes 7.7 and try it then)?

Do I need to downgrade to 2.0.2, unlock the phone with pwnage made for that version, then update to 2.1 again and then jailbreak with qwkpwnage?

I'm on an new iMac running leopard. Any help is greatly appreciated.
