Anyone else get a message today that the case is delayed 6 weeks? Im trying to figure out if they sold out or never produced it in the first place. I ordered about 3 weeks ago?

Thanks

Unfortunately, this is Vaja's business model; hype up their customers with slick emails and product announcements. Then come the inevitable delays. Don't get me wrong, I've purchased their cases and my experiences have been exemplary. But their published manufacturing estimates are always humorous. Unsolicited advice? Cancel your order, buy a cheap, good-looking knock-off, and re-order when they're fully stocked for the holidays.

That is excellent advice that I think I will take!

Thanks!

I received the same email. I opted for a refund. This is the first time they make this case, it’s a new design. My guess, and I bet I’m correct, is they made some and when they finally received an iPhone X, it didn’t fit right. So now they have to adjust something. I might re purchase once they are in stock.

Are the considerably better then the Apple leather cases? I have had the Apple leather ones since the iPhone 5 and have loved them. Just wondering if these are worth $40 extra.

I personally don’t like the classic Vaja Grip cases. I bought it for my 7 Plus last year and it just doesn’t provide enough protection. The left top corner didn’t extend higher than the glass so I couldn’t lay my iPhone face down on a table. I made a claim and they sent me a replacement which had the same problem. It’s also thicker than the Apple leather cases. I wanted the slim Grip to see how it was. Since it’s a new design I wanted to see it. Vaja leather is very nice and not as slippery as Apple’s leather cases.

Thanks for the info. The Apple leather cases are a bit slippery, but I think they get better with time. The Vaja’s do look nice though.

Every year I want to like the Vaja. 2 years ago I tried my 6+ with one of the cool embossed grips, and within months, the leather was split at the corners showing the white base case. I was told it was designed that way to absorb shock, and it did protect my phone. They offered my 20% off.
But with the 7+, I bought the Apple leather and it also protected the phone but the edges were scuffed, not split.

There have been a ton of fake accounts hawking merchandise lately. I wonder if the mods are going to clean these posts up.

Well, there's the rub; if you get a good one, they're far better than Apple's back or folio styles. IMO, no one can beat the quality of Vaja's leather. But Vaja's CS can be a royal pain if you get a defective or poorly made case.

After spending that much money, I would expect great customer service.

That sucks they delayed shipping, i opted to cancel my order right after I got my X. Nice cases, but delays are a pita.

Vaja leather is extremely top of the line but the case can be hit or miss since it is handmade. Apple leather cases are superb and quite readily available as well as easily exchanged so the Apple Leather Case is probably the safest buy and it won’t be a disappointment.
