I have an older iPT that can't load iOS7. I don't use it for much but would like to get some more apps for it. I've browsed the AppStore, but it gets old when you look at so many apps that don't work below iOS7.

Is there a way to filter the AppStore so that you can see only the apps that'll work on you device?

I haven't found a way to search the store for that either, but I do have a workaround that has worked for me in the past:

What I did with my 3rd Gen was use the App Shopper website (http://appshopper.com/) to look up apps that I wanted, and see if they had a version predating September 2012 (which is when apps started to stop supporting iOS 5). The version list is on right side of the app description screen under the "App Activity" heading. If the app did predate 9/2012 then I'd download the app to my computer through iTunes and then try to sync it to my Touch. It would, of course, fail but offer to download the newest compatible version from Apple's server. As far as I know this is the only way to get outdated versions of apps.

In your case I believe the date to pay attention to would be prior to September 2013, which is when iOS7 came out and apps started updating from iOS6.
