I want a 7800gt for my DC 2.0GHz G5, which will (according to plan) soon be replaced by a quad. I see one today on eBay for €25 plus €20 shipping.

I had just decided in my head that an original was worth that much to me and then I saw an extra €10 import tax...it just threw me off at the last second.

I know spending so much on an ancient card is madness here anyway, but is a better deal likely to come up? They always hang around €70ish in Europe so getting one around €45 got me interested. I'd flash it but I here it's hard to find a flash able 7800gt.

What do you think?

I'd purchase it, even if that G5 is headed for backup status. You may need it one day and it'll be nice to have ready to go.

My DP G5 is like that, but with extra drives and a SATA controller card. If one of my other machines goes out on me, I can easily replace it with the backup G5 and, relatively, not miss a beat.

You know what I just yolo'd it and went to buy it! And now my card isn't working with paypal all of a sudden!

There, I got it to go through eventually! I own a genuine 7800GT, woohoo! :D

But I am fit to strangle my bank...

Well damn I was only worrying about them damaging yet ANOTHER G5 case when i finally get my Quad, but now I won't get any sleep xD

I picked up a Radeon 5450 a few months back, never came because the seller's kid decided to eat it.

Luckily, I have never experienced a damaged item from shipping.
