There's one for sale locally, and they're asking $350. It is a 17" 1.83GHz model, although I forget whether it was a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo. It has the keyboard and mouse. It seems to run fine, although it has a small crack on the screen, making about three black spots on the top left screen totaling about 2-3 sq. inches, along with a few whitish lines. It actually is not that large, and it is completely useable. Is it a fair price?

Agreed - that's not a good price. I've seen ones in that range with no screen issues. Keep looking, you'll find a better deal.
The crack was actually longer than I remembered. It was a Core Duo. Either way, I let it go.

I would say that's a good price for that. I looked it up on mac2sell.net and it listed for $220, so it sounds like a good deal. Should give you a pretty nice performance boost too
