Today I had a look at the console and found out I had strange errors at OS X boot time,

05/11/08 11:22:43 com.apple.launchd[1] (org.postfix.master) Failed to count the number of files in “/var/spool/postfix/maildrop”: No such file or directory

It seems I've been having these error messages for a very long time. However, I don't recall having any problems with my Mac.

Should I just ignore this? Has anyone had the same messages before? Why am I having these error messages?

You restored from Time Machine didn't you? You'll have to recreate the directory via Terminal.

sudo mkdir /var/spool/postfix

sudo postfix stop
sudo postfix start

You shouldn't see that error after that.

Yes, I did.

Please forgive me for my ignorance & stupidity, but should I type

sudo mkdir /var/spool/posfix

and then type sudo postfix stop

and lastly type sudo postfix start?

Just to make sure I do nothing wrong at Terminal. :)
