So, I'm on a school network, and the connection is bad due to cinder block walls, distance, etc. I was tols by someone in th IT office here that all it took for him to improve his connection was to run a long usb cable with a wireless adapter to another area of his apartment. I'd like to do the same, but I can't find a USB adapter for the Macbook. To add to all this, I bought an Airport Extreme in hopes of using its WDS capability to relay the connection, but I don't know or know how to get, the MAC address of the router or network I'm connected to. So, does anyone know of a good USB wireless adapter I could go buy, or could someone tell me how to obtain the MAC address of the network machine one is connected to?
Thanks!
