Hello,
I'm having a few minor but mystifying issues with frequently-used shortcuts. All appeared suddenly a few days ago, which makes me think it might be a problem with the OS, so it seemed best to post it here. I'm running Mavericks on a MacBook pro.
1) Quicksilver
Works perfectly except for the triggers that act on selected text. Eg normally I could select the word 'text' in the last sentence and press a shortcut to launch a Google Maps search for it, or a dictionary search, or compose an email with it as the title, or various other actions. None of these work.
2) Clip to Scrivener service
My global shortcut to clip selected text to Scrivener stopped working in Mail and a couple of other applications, though it currently seems to have returned to life.
3) Afloat
This windows management tool normally works in all Cocoa applications. But it's currently only working consistently in a few.
The only obvious thing 3) has in common with 1) and 2) is that I use ^ + ⌘ for the shortcuts for all of them. But These keys are working perfectly well apart from this.
Any ideas what could be happening?
Many thanks in advance.
