Hi

A simple problem I'm sure, but could someone help me with why the Japanese kanji doesn't transfer. It comes out as gobbledygook, whereas numbers and alphabet letters are fine.

Both machines are set to vCard type 3.0 and MAC OS Roman type. The 10.4 sends to 10.5 OK, but not vice-versa.

Thanks

Paul

Sounds like a text encoding issue. After the export, try opening the vCards in a editor, such as TextWrangler (free), that lets you change the encoding type. I would make sure it's set to UTF-8. I use it for most of my Japanese stuff. This may improve the import process. I haven't dealt with Japanese in my contacts though.
