Looking at the 2019 MacBook Pro and want to go with the Vega 20 option, however I'm struggling to understand why the vega 20 is a $350 upgrade... Especially when comparing to something like the XPS 2-1 (15) and HP x360 Spectre with the Vega m GL.

Is there a real difference in architecture or performance? Using for video editing (FCPx / resolve), encoding, and gaming in bootcamp

Vega M GL is not a real Vega chip, and it’s integrated on package with an Intel CPU. The Vega chip Apple uses is a custom part AMD made for them and it’s around 25% faster than Vega M GL. Yeah, it’s not cheap, but that’s the problem with custom chips and Apple products :)
