VelociRaptor or Software Raid WD Black / Barracuda® 7200.12

Hello,

i am mainly looking for Speed, i want to set up a new boot drive to make appz like maya and Photoshop work faster, hard ware raid is to expensive, so i am thinking about:
VelociRaptor
or
Software Raid WD Black or Barracuda® 7200.12

Both will end up around the same price, what would you suggest!

There are some topics in the Mac Pro forum discussing that, and of course: link .

If you have the MP, seperate file and scratch drives are a lot faster for PS than a faster boot drive.

i have 4 hard drives, one for video etc one for work and one for the os,
so that is the best choice you say?
