Just curious. iBook purchase will happen soon, and I am debating getting the 60gig over the 40. Quite honestly, I don't need 60 gigs at all, but it would feel nicer to have (and a bit more "future proofed")...plus the higher eBay resale value (for when the Gobi's come out...muahaha). Anyway-

Since the 60gig is a new introduction, does this mean it is more risky (1st gen product) than the older 40 gig? I've already had my 60 gig in my iMac replaced (was a Maxtor) because of a piercing whine (Seagage was the replacement), and I'm a bit nervous about drives in general.

Basically is the 60 gig worth the $50 and assumed risk?
