So something has changed between Monterey and Ventura when it comes to Alias's in the dock.

When Apple added "Stacks" and "Folders" to the dock it changed the way folders are accessed, personally I never like it. I preferred the old method of when you clicked on a folder in the dock it opened the folder.

There was a work around where you created an Alias of the folder and add the Alias to the dock and it worked like before. Now it still works but the icons on the dock are generic doc icons, not folder icons.

Not a deal breaker, it opens the folder like it should, but it would be nicer to have a proper folder icon instead.

Any ideas?

Hold down option+command when you click the folder, and it will open immediately.

Or hold down only command to navigate to the parent folder.
