I've been stubbornly hanging onto Catalina but recently got an apple studio display which shocked me to learn had software requirements (my hardware was no question). Thankfully someone on GitHub has a hack to get the monitor working on Catalina, but it's missing a lot of features and buggy still. (edit: I just want one big upgrade to Ventura, dont want to do multiple big upgrades back to back within weeks).

So my question is, has apple publicly declared October as Ventura's release date? Every time I read the comments in the latest beta release there seems to be loads of bugs. Are we getting this in two weeks or could it be a November release?

Also for anyone interested in the Apple Studio Display Catalina hack-

sweeet. looking forward to it. I guess the things to chat about here are bugs. so my viewed is skewed.

I've been using Ventura since the first developer beta and it's been steadily getting better. My last dealbreaker bug got squashed in beta 10 My 14" MBP would stay at 100% charge instead of stopping at 80% with optimized charging enabled but that got fixed a couple weeks ago.

However, Stage Manager is weird and will take some getting used to. They might be holding it off to try and get it polished up. For now I just have it off and use my Mac like I always use my Mac.

Ventura has been very smooth for me since Beta 8, and I have not switched back to Monterey since.

The only bug I have is with the Clock app where alarms would not play.

And Apple is aware of it.
